My objective in painting is to create, not report. My paintings have been shown in galleries, have won many awards, published in North Light Books and are part of the permanent collection of Swedish Hospital.
Although my vibrant, fresh color has taken center stage in many of my paintings I am always thinking emotion and a compelling composition. I especially like playing with paint and letting it "talk to me". I enjoy painting in a series with different styles, a lesson learned from the masters of contemporary art like Miro, Picasso, Robert Rauschenberg, Jasper Johns, etc. who all reinvented their styles during their long careers.
Among my new series Silver and Black is inspired by very large abstract sculptures with the paintings sized to be enjoyed in smaller settings of homes and offices, while the Abstract Geometrics offer strength with lines along with solid shapes and the Abstract Woodland & Field series show my emotional love of nature.
My studio is open this year with limited access during the current pandemic. Those interested in purchasing fine art say that they want to actually see it. Call me at 1-207-714-3647 to arrange this by showing you the desired art in your car or a short visit. with the proper safeguards. My studio Gallery is located on the lower level of a home on north Camano Island.
